Early Life and Education

Hannah Barlow was born in Sydney, Australia, on 12 June 1988. She grew up in a creative family, with her father being a musician and her mother being a painter. She developed an interest in acting and filmmaking from a young age, and participated in various school plays and short films.

She attended the University of New South Wales, where she studied media and communications. She also took acting classes at the Actors Centre Australia and the Australian Film Television and Radio School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010.

Career

Hannah Barlow began her career as an actor, appearing in several short films, web series and commercials. She also worked as a production assistant, editor and assistant director on various projects.

In 2016, she made her feature film debut with For Now, which she co-directed, co-wrote and co-starred with Kane Senes. The film is a semi-autobiographical comedy-drama about four Australian friends who embark on a road trip to San Francisco to audition for a prestigious dance school. The film was shot in 12 days with a budget of $15,000, and was praised for its naturalistic dialogue, improvisation and chemistry between the actors.

In 2019, she followed up with Koko: A Red Dog Story, which she co-directed, co-wrote and co-starred with Aaron McCann. The film is a mockumentary about the life of Koko, the dog who played the titular role in the 2011 Australian film Red Dog. The film features interviews with celebrities such as Jason Isaacs, Bryan Brown and Felix Williamson, as well as footage of Koko's adventures around the world. The film was well-received by critics and audiences alike, and won the Audience Award at the CinefestOZ Film Festival.

Hannah Barlow is currently working on her third feature film, which is yet to be announced. She is also developing a TV series based on her experiences as an actor and filmmaker.

Personal Life

Hannah Barlow is married to Kane Senes, who is also her frequent collaborator. They met while studying at the University of New South Wales, and have been together since 2009. They currently live in Los Angeles, California.

Hannah Barlow is also an avid traveller, animal lover and yoga enthusiast. She enjoys reading books, watching movies and listening to music in her spare time.
