Jason Momoa is an American actor, model, director and producer. He was born on August 1, 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Momoa is best known for his portrayal of Khal Drogo in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones.

Early Life

Momoa grew up in Iowa with his mother after his parents’ divorce. As a kid, he loved art and Marine Biology. In high school he started to become interested in sports like basketball and football.

Career Beginnings

In the late 90s, Momoa began working as a model appearing in commercials for big brand names such as Louis Vuitton and Nivea Men.

Rise to Stardom

In 2011 Momoa got his breakout role playing the warlord Khal Drogo in HBO’s Game of Thrones which made him quite popular among fans worldwide. Post that he starred opposite Sylvester Stallone in "Bullet to the Head", action drama “Wolves”, “Road To Paloma” which was followed by arraying Aquaman character in DC Superhero movies Justice League and Aquaman (2018) directed by James Wan thus establishing himself as one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars.

Personal Life

Momoa has been married since October 2017 to Lisa Bonet who herself had acted alongside Bill Cosby as Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show; they have two children together - a daughter named Lola Iolani Momoa(born July 2007) and son Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaehai (born December 2008).
