Mark Wahlberg, born as Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg on June 5th, 1971 in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. He is the youngest of nine children born to parents Alma Elaine and Donald Edward Wahlberg Sr.
Wahlberg grew up in a rough neighborhood and was involved in several illegal activities as a teenager. However, he turned his life around after serving time in prison for assault and embarked on a career in music.
In the early 1990s, Wahlberg was one of the founding members of the hip hop group Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch. They released their debut album "Music for the People" in 1991 which peaked at number one on the US Billboard charts.
