Jeff Bezos, born on January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is an American entrepreneur and business magnate. He is the founder, CEO and president of Inc., one of the world's largest online retailers.

Early Life

Bezos attended Princeton University where he studied computer science and electrical engineering. After graduation, he worked at various firms including Fitel Bankers Trust where he developed a system to trade through computer networks.


In 1994, Bezos founded with the goal of creating “the earth’s most customer-centric company.” The company began as an online bookstore and quickly expanded its product offerings to include electronics, apparel and more. Today, Amazon is a leader in e-commerce with over 300 million active users worldwide.

In addition to his role at Inc., Bezos oversees a variety of other ventures including Blue Origin (a space exploration company), The Washington Post (a newspaper), and more recently acquired MGM studios.

Bezos has been married twice; first to MacKenzie Scott from 1993 to 2019 with whom he had four children. He later dated Lauren Sanchez whom he eventually married in May 2021.
