Lewis Hamilton is a Formula One racing driver who has taken the sport by storm since his debut in 2007. He was born on January 7, 1985, in Stevenage, England.

Early Life and Career

Hamilton's interest in racing began at a very young age. He started go-karting at the age of 8 and soon became British Karting Champion. He quickly moved up the ranks and won several championships throughout his early career.

Formula One Career

In 2007, Hamilton made his debut for McLaren in Formula One and finished on the podium in his first race. That year, he went on to nearly win the World Championship as a rookie but fell short to Kimi Raikkonen by one point.

Hamilton won his first World Championship with McLaren in 2008 and then joined Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team where he has won five more championships (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019).

Over the course of his career so far, Hamilton has set numerous records including most F1 pole positions (92), most podium finishes (163), and most wins from pole position (57). As of this writing in March of 2021 , he is tied with Michael Schumacher for most championship wins (7).

Personal Life

In addition to racing, Hamilton is involved with various philanthropic endeavors including supporting underprivileged children around the world through education initiatives. Outside of racing he enjoy music fashion among some other passions.
