Max Verstappen is a Dutch racing driver who currently competes in Formula One for Red Bull Racing. He was born on September 30, 1997, in Hasselt, Belgium to former Formula One driver Jos Verstappen and his mother Sophie Kumpen.

Early Life

Max grew up in a racing family. The young Verstappen began karting at age four. He quickly proved himself to be a prodigious talent, winning multiple championships throughout his youth.

Career in Karting

Verstappen competed in the Rotax Max championship before moving on to international competition. In 2013 he won both the European and World titles in the KF category.

Move to FIA F3 Championship

After karting, Max moved into single-seater racing and competed in the highly competitive FIA Formula Three European Championship for Van Amersfoort Racing where he secured ten wins from a total of thirty-three races.

Career in Formula One

In August 2014, Max joined the Red Bull Junior Team as their youngest-ever member at just sixteen years old. In March the following year, Max was signed by Scuderia Toro Rosso - Red Bull's sister team - as their driver under contract until the end of 2017.

In May 2016, after achieving his first podium finish earlier that year at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Spain), it was announced that Max would be promoted to drive for Red Bull Racing for the remainder of the season.

He became one of Formula One’s youngest ever Grand Prix winners when he claimed victory at the Spanish Grand Prix just days after being promoted from sister team Toto Rosso at age eighteen.

Since then, Verstappen has continued to impress with his raw speed and ability to produce great drives even when his car might not have been capable of much more than fighting outside of podium positions.

Conclusion

In just a few short years, Max Verstappen has established himself as one of the top drivers in Formula One. With his raw talent and ability to consistently punch above his weight, there’s no doubt that we’ll be seeing a lot more of him at the front of the pack in the years to come.
