Ayra Starr is a young and talented Nigerian singer. She was born on June 14, 2002, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Her real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe.
Early Life and Education
Ayra Starr had her early education in Lagos at the Nigerian Navy Primary School and Airforce Secondary School respectively. Afterward, she moved to Canada with her family where she completed her high school education.
While in Canada, Ayra got involved in music professionally by recording covers of popular tracks after watching videos of Nigerian artistes on YouTube. She relocated back to Nigeria to pursue her music career with Mavin Records owned by Don Jazzy who has helped to discover numerous talents across Africa. The CEO even featured on one of the tracks on Ayra Starr's debut album titled "Away".
Her self-titled EP "Ayra Starr" was released under Don Jazzy's label in January 2021 which was met with critical acclaim from both fans and critics alike prompting comparisons and predictions that she could become Africa's next biggest superstar.
Not much is known about Ayra's personal life as she just hit the limelight recently but what is distinctive about her style/music is that it exudes freshness blended with soulfulness way beyond her age.
