Marc Anthony is an iconic American singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. He was born on September 16, 1968, in New York City to Puerto Rican parents.
Anthony grew up in East Harlem with his seven siblings. Despite belonging to a musical family, Anthony did not show much interest in music during his childhood. However, it was the tragic loss of his father when he was just 12 that prompted him to pursue a career in music.
In the late 1980s, Anthony started performing as a songwriter and backup vocalist for Latin freestyle and house music artists such as Sa-Fire, The Cover Girls and Latin Rascals. In 1991, he released his debut album "Rebel," which received little success.
It wasn't until the release of his third album "Todo a Su Tiempo" in 1995 that Anthony gained mainstream success with songs like "Te Conozco Bien" and "Hasta Que Te Conoci."
Since then, Marc Anthony has released multiple albums throughout his career including "Contra La Corriente," "Marc Anthony" and "3.0." He has also collaborated with several notable artists such as Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin.

Marc Anthony has had several high-profile romantic relationships throughout his life. He married former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres in 2000 but they divorced soon after. In 2004 he married singer Jennifer Lopez but they separated in 2011. They have two children together.
Anthony has also been involved in philanthropy work through Maestro Cares Foundation which provides housing facilities for underprivileged children in Latin America.
