Penny Mordaunt is a British politician who was first elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Portsmouth North in 2010. She has since served in various positions within the government and currently holds the position of Paymaster General and Minister for the Cabinet Office.

Early Life and Education

Penny Mordaunt was born on March 4, 1973, in Torquay, Devon. She attended Oaklands Roman Catholic School and then went on to study Philosophy at Reading University. After completing her degree, she worked as a magician's assistant on a cruise ship before joining the Royal Navy Reserve.

Political Career

Mordaunt began her political career by serving as a councillor on West Sussex County Council from 1998 to 2004. In 2006, she played an active role in campaigning against Britain's membership of the European Union.

In 2010, Penny Mordaunt won her first parliamentary election by becoming MP for Portsmouth North. She served as Minister of State for Disabled People between 2015-16 under Prime Minister David Cameron and went on to hold senior positions in Theresa May's government such as Secretary of State for International Development from November 9, 2017 – July15 ,2019.

Currently serving under Boris Johnson’s regime,, she has two main roles; they are : 1 - Paymaster General: responsible for ensuring that all public services are paid correctly. 2- Cabinet Office minister: responsible for overseeing government policy on democracy , transparency & data science

Mordaunt has always been open about her personal life with ADHD being one aspect that has caught many people’s interest through several interviews/articles .She became an IMAGINE Ambassador which is one small part of bringing positivity out From ADHDs effects


Throughout Penny Mordaunt's political career she has held various positions which can be considered as varied . However, with her new position in Johnson's government she would continue to be a vital component of United Kingdom political arena.
